Background The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), part of the U.S. Department of Energy, is seeking janitorial services for its facilities located in Watertown, South Dakota. The goal of this contract is to ensure a clean and sanitary environment for the operations, marketing, and maintenance offices, thereby supporting the agency's mission to provide reliable power and services. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive janitorial services at the following locations: 1) Watertown Operations Office, 2) Watertown Marketing Office, 3) Watertown Maintenance Office, and 4) Watertown Alternate Control Center. The services include but are not limited to: regular cleaning of office spaces, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas; waste disposal; floor care including vacuuming and mopping; window cleaning; and ensuring that all areas meet health and safety standards. Additionally, the contractor must pass a background investigation for all employees working at this site and complete Cyber Security training before an award can be made. The requirement is a local area set-aside for established firms within the Watertown area only. The contractor must also have an off-site facility to store bulk supplies. Period of Performance The contract will commence on April 1, 2026, and continue through March 31, 2027 (Base Year), with four option years available: Option Year 1 from April 1, 2027 to March 31, 2028; Option Year 2 from April 1, 2028 to March 31, 2029; Option Year 3 from April 1, 2029 to March 31, 2030; and Option Year 4 from April 1, 2030 to March 31, 2031. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the following location: Western Area Power Administration, 1330 41st St. SE, Watertown, SD 57201.
