Background The City of Wichita, the largest city in Kansas with a population of approximately 397,000, is seeking proposals for the design of rehabilitation projects for multiple sanitary sewer lift stations. This initiative is part of the Public Works & Utilities Department's efforts to maintain and improve municipal infrastructure. The City aims to ensure reliable sewage management through the rehabilitation or replacement of aging lift stations as outlined in their Capital Improvement Program. Work Details The project involves design services for various lift stations categorized into two groups: Group A and Group B. Specific tasks include: - **Group A:** - Lift Station 1: New pumps, upgraded control panels, valve replacements, elevator inspection, emergency bypass design, SCADA compatibility verification. - Lift Station 3: Similar upgrades as Lift Station 1 with additional wet well rehabilitation. - Lift Station 11: Complete vacuum prime station replacement and site improvements. - Lift Station 29: Full lift station replacement and associated improvements. - Lift Station 30: Piping replacement, generator evaluation, and emergency bypass design. - Lift Station 42: Wet well rehabilitation and emergency bypass design. - **Group B:** - Lift Station 7: New pumps and control panels with SCADA compatibility verification. - Lift Station 22: Force main evaluation and generator condition assessment. - Lift Station 28: Control panel upgrades and piping replacements. - Lift Station 35: New pumps and motors with generator evaluation. - Lift Station 55: Control panel upgrades and wet well rehabilitation. Place of Performance The work will be performed at various locations throughout Wichita, Kansas. Bidder Requirements Bidders must have a minimum of five years' experience in similar services. They must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Registration with the Kansas Secretary of State is required before contract execution. Bidders should also demonstrate participation in the Small & Emerging Business Enterprise Program (S/EBE) as part of their proposal.
