Background The contract is issued by the Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB) as part of their mission to maintain and improve facility infrastructure. Work Details The contractor shall furnish and install two Lochinvar boilers or equivalent models with specific features: 1) Bldg. 2310 requires a Lochinvar KnightXL Model KBX-1000N-M13 (1 EA) or equal; 2) Bldg. 1610 requires a Lochinvar KnightXL Model KBX-0400N (1 EA) or equal. Key characteristics include: minimum 7” touchscreen LCD display, 97% thermal efficiency, flow switch, condensate trap neutralizer, and a 10:1 turndown modulating burner. The installation must ensure integration into existing infrastructure, including connecting to electric, water, and gas lines, isolating existing boilers from the main loop, installing new appliance regulators, and ensuring proper venting and drainage systems are in place. Additional tasks include installing exhaust ducts per manufacturer instructions, conducting inspections for compliance with installation requirements, performing boiler start-up by certified technicians, and programming the boilers to specified HVAC parameters. Period of Performance The project is scheduled for completion by October 2, 2026. The contractor must coordinate the boiler replacement during late spring, summer, or early fall of 2026 to minimize disruption to facility operations.
