Emergency Snow Removal Service for USCG Academy.
Summary (Newest Update)
Background The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) requires emergency snow removal services due to excessive snow accumulation that has created unsafe conditions on the installation. This justification is for a contract action that allows for other than full and open competition, citing urgent operational requirements and limited contractor availability during extraordinary winter conditions. Work Details The contractor will provide snow hauling and disposal services to remove accumulated snow from roadways, parking areas, sidewalks, and operational areas throughout USCGA. The services include: - Loading, transporting, and disposing of snow at Government-designated disposal locations along the Thames River waterfront within USCGA property. - Compliance with Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) regulations for emergency in-water snow disposal. - Provision of all necessary labor, equipment (including dump trucks and front-end loaders), and supervision. - Immediate mobilization capabilities to ensure public safety by maintaining emergency vehicle access, reducing slip hazards, and ensuring mission readiness. Place of Performance U.S. Coast Guard Academy property located along the Thames River in Connecticut.
