Background The Naval Sea Systems Command, Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) is issuing a justification for the award of a contract modification on a sole source basis. This action pertains to Request for Contract Changes (RCCs) 6N and 7N for the USS BENFOLD 6A1 Continuous Maintenance Availability, with the goal of addressing urgent maintenance needs critical to the ship's operational capabilities. Work Details The contractor, Delphinus Engineering, Inc., is required to provide all services necessary to perform a chelate flush and refill of the cooling skid, cabinets, and associated piping and valves on the ship's spy equipment cooling system as specified in RCCs 6N and 7N. This work is essential due to previous welding performed on the cooling piping system while the ship was homeported in Japan, which necessitated flushing that was not conducted. The cooling system is currently experiencing high temperatures and low flow rates, which could lead to catastrophic failures of critical radar systems if not addressed promptly. Period of Performance All work must be accomplished at Naval Station Everett before the completion date of the USS BENFOLD 6A1 Continuous Maintenance Availability.
