Background The U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Diego is seeking a one-year bridge contract to manage refuse services, which includes the collection and disposal of solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic materials generated at their facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure efficient waste management in compliance with applicable regulations. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, vehicles, containers, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary for the following tasks: 1. Collecting, transporting, and disposing of solid waste and recyclable materials at Sector San Diego (2710 North Harbor Drive) and Point Loma Senior Housing (2465 Cabrillo Rd). 2. Operating between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Government Holidays. 3. Delivering and maintaining various sizes of containers for different types of waste: - One 3 cubic yard container for food waste with lock capability (emptied three times per week). - One 6 cubic yard container for cardboard (emptied once per week). - Two 25 cubic yard containers for solid waste (emptied once per week). - One 4 cubic yard container for recyclable materials (emptied once per month). - Additional containers as specified for Point Loma Lighthouse with specific frequencies. 4. Transporting all collected solid waste to the designated disposal site by the City of San Diego at the contractor's expense. 5. Ensuring site maintenance by preventing spills during collection and promptly cleaning up any litter or spilled materials. 6. Complying with all Federal, State, and Local laws regarding refuse collection and disposal.
