Background The VA St. Louis Health Care System, specifically the John Cochran Division, is issuing this solicitation for the replacement of air handlers in Building 1. The goal of this contract is to enhance the HVAC systems within the facility to ensure optimal performance and compliance with health standards, thereby supporting the agency's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services. Work Details The scope of work includes general construction tasks such as: - Installation and removal of temporary timber mat road and security fencing. - Installation and removal of temporary Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Boiler at ground level. - Removal, disposal, and replacement of existing AHU 3 along with its enclosed penthouse structure. - Excavation to locate a break in the water main beneath a parking area west of Building 1, including: - Demolition/removal and disposal of damaged pipe. - Installation of approximately 6 feet of new pipe. - Filling any excavation and repairing/replacing compromised parking lot surface with a minimum of 4 inches of asphalt over an 8-inch fill, covering approximately 300 square feet.
