Background The Town of Brunswick, Maine, is issuing this contract for the milling and paving of Maine Street from Bath Road to Mere Point Road. Work Details The scope of work includes: 1) Milling and paving Maine Street from Bath Road to Mere Point Road; 2) Rebuilding adjacent pedestrian ramps with detectable warning plates; 3) Major quantities include over 28,890 square yards of milling, nearly 3,000 tons of HMA, and over 38,600 linear feet of pavement striping. Additional items include tree and stump removal, installation of hot mix asphalt in various forms (surface, hand-placed, shim), bituminous tack coat application, adjusting manholes or catch basins to grade, reconstructing pedestrian ramps, loam seeding and mulching, installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons, and various traffic control measures including drums and cones. Period of Performance The work is scheduled to commence within ten (10) days after the signing of the contract and must be completed by October 15, 2026. Place of Performance The contract will be performed on Maine Street from Bath Road to Mere Point Road in Brunswick, Maine. Bidder Requirements Bidders must provide a bid security deposit in the form of a bid bond amounting to ten percent (10%) of the total bid price unless the project bid price is below $250,000. A Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will also be required from the successful bidder. Subcontracting will not be allowed without prior written approval from the Town Engineer.
