Background Clemson University is seeking bids for Charter Bus Services to provide safe, reliable, and compliant transportation between its campus and designated regional airports and South Carolina hub locations. The contract aims to support the Airport Shuttle program during peak holiday travel periods and the start and end of each semester. The University plans to award a contract with an initial term of one year, with options to renew for up to two additional one-year periods based on satisfactory performance, continued need, and availability of funds. Work Details The selected Contractor will provide all labor, vehicles, equipment, supervision, and materials necessary for charter bus transportation services during university-designated holiday breaks. Services include transportation at the start and end of each semester, Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Transportation will cover at least the following airports: Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP), Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Additional hub locations may include Columbia, Charleston, and Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Contractors must provide sufficient vehicles and drivers to meet peak demand as indicated by the University prior to each holiday break. All buses must be 56-passenger motor coaches or better, properly licensed and maintained according to federal, state, and local laws. Vehicles must include climate control, adequate luggage storage, restroom facilities, and air conditioning. Drivers must possess valid Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. Period of Performance The initial term of the contract is one year with options for two additional one-year renewals based on performance. Place of Performance Clemson University campus and designated regional airports in South Carolina. Bidder Requirements Offerors must submit proposals electronically through Clemson University's online bidding system. They are required to provide proof of insurance prior to contract execution covering Commercial Automobile Liability and Commercial General Liability with limits no less than $1 million per occurrence. Additionally, Workers' Compensation as required by South Carolina law is necessary. Offerors must also be registered as active suppliers in Clemson University's buyWays system within three business days of receiving an invitation.
