Background The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to secure professional linen and laundry services to support the healthcare operations of the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy. The goal of this contract is to ensure a consistent supply of clean, sanitized linens that maintain the comfort, dignity, and safety of residents, patients, and staff. This partnership aims to enhance patient care, comply with infection control standards, improve operational efficiency, ensure service continuity, and maintain accountability and quality assurance. Work Details The selected Vendor will be responsible for processing facility linens and laundry which includes washing, conditioning, drying, ironing, and folding items for return in a ready-to-use state. The Vendor shall provide rental items including: - Flat and fitted sheets - Pillowcases - Chuck pads - Towels - Washcloths - Blankets (including warmer blankets) - Gowns Pick-up of soiled laundry and delivery of clean laundry will occur Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The Vendor must comply with all applicable codes set by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals. Specific wash cycle requirements include maintaining temperatures at 160°F for washing cycles and 150°F-155°F for bleach cycles. Daily monitoring of pH levels for finished loads is required, as well as ensuring hygienic separation between soiled and clean areas during operations. Period of Performance The contract will commence upon the last dated signature and will end on April 30, 2026. The total term may not exceed ten years including any renewals or extensions. Place of Performance All services will be performed at the Illinois Veterans Home Quincy located at 1707 N. 12th Street Quincy IL 62301. Bidder Requirements The Vendor must maintain all required business licenses necessary to operate a commercial laundry service. Subcontracting is not allowed under this contract.
