Background The Rhode Island Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) is seeking quotes from vendors for the upgrade of an above ground medium voltage switch at the John O. Pastore Campus Center. This project aims to enhance the electrical infrastructure at the facility, ensuring reliable power distribution and safety standards. Work Details The contract involves the upgrade of the existing medium voltage switch system. The successful vendor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, labor, and equipment to complete the installation. Specific tasks include: 1) Removal of existing switchgear; 2) Installation of new medium voltage switchgear; 3) Testing and commissioning of the new system; 4) Compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards. Period of Performance The initial contract period will begin approximately June 1, 2026, for one year. Contracts may be renewed for up to two additional 12-month periods based on vendor performance and availability of funds. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the John O. Pastore Campus Center located at 13 Power Road, Cranston, RI 02920. Bidder Requirements Vendors must provide a bid surety bond or certified check equal to five percent (5%) of their cost proposal. Additionally, vendors must maintain a valid certificate of registration issued by the Rhode Island Contractors’ Registration Board throughout the contract term. Insurance requirements include liability coverage of $1 million per occurrence, workers compensation coverage, and other specified insurance types.
