Background The West Virginia Department of Administration, General Services Division (GSD) is seeking bids to establish a contract for Lawn Care Services at West Virginia State Building 54, located at 416 Adams Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. The goal of this contract is to maintain the landscaping and lawn areas surrounding the building in a professional and aesthetically pleasing manner. Work Details The contract includes the following services: 1. Mowing, Trimming, and Edging Grass: Weekly mowing from April to October, cutting grass to a height of 3.0” to 3-1/2”. Edging around sidewalks and trimming in inaccessible areas must be performed. Grass clippings must be removed from hard surfaces. Litter and debris must be cleared before and after mowing. 2. Leaf Blowing and Disposal: Removal of leaves approximately 15 times per year during fall. 3. Trimming of Shrubs and Trees: Trimming twice a year without exceeding 20% of growth; all trimmed materials must be disposed of off-site. 4. Overseeding: Once per year in late summer using Wetsel Class Act 2 or an equivalent blend of turf-type tall fescues at a rate of 6 lbs. per 1000 square feet using a slit-seeder. 5. Edging Shrub and Tree Beds: Twice per year edging around shrub beds (3-4” deep) and tree swells (4-6 feet in diameter). Period of Performance The contract will commence upon award and will continue for one year with options for renewal. Place of Performance All services will be performed at West Virginia State Building 54, located at 416 Adams Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Bidder Requirements Vendors must have completed five successful lawn care projects in the past three years and provide references prior to award. Vendors are required to comply with all state licensing requirements.
