Background The Mountain Home National Cemetery is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive grounds maintenance services. The mission of the cemetery is to honor and maintain the final resting places of veterans and their families. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the cemetery grounds are kept in pristine condition, reflecting the respect and dignity owed to those interred there. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for various tasks including: 1. Edging and trimming all grass within the cemetery, ensuring a clear gap between turf and horizontal surfaces. 2. Maintaining turf at a height of 4 inches as directed by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). 3. Weekly removal of debris, tools, and supplies from work areas at the end of each workday. 4. Trimming around headstones, monuments, and other vertical surfaces to maintain uniform grass height. 5. Collecting and removing fallen leaves, nuts, twigs, and other natural debris from the cemetery grounds throughout the year, especially during peak seasons from October to January. 6. Monitoring and maintaining an underground sprinkler system for approximately 15 acres of irrigated turf, including routine inspections and repairs as needed. 7. Refilling sunken graves with suitable soil to match adjacent grades within specified timeframes. 8. Maintaining planting beds, shrubs, and trees through proper watering, pruning, mulching, and pest management.
