Background The Virginia Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking multiple providers to deliver Physical Therapy Assistant Services on an as-needed basis across several DOC facilities. The goal of this contract is to ensure that male inmates receive necessary physical therapy care and services. The initial term of any resulting contract will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal as outlined in Section III., Paragraph D. of the RFP. This solicitation does not guarantee business to any contractor but provides a method to obtain services. Work Details The selected providers will be responsible for delivering Physical Therapy Services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, including but not limited to: modalities, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy techniques, and the use of orthopedic/adaptive equipment as per the established Plan of Care. Services will be provided on-site at DOC facilities for up to 40 hours per week, with specific requirements including: submitting weekly accounting of hours worked, completing daily notes within 24 hours post-appointment, documenting treatment objectives and outcomes, collecting patient data metrics, adhering to established formularies, and communicating effectively with other medical staff involved in patient care. Providers must also notify the Department immediately if there are any changes in their professional status or if they encounter issues that may affect their performance. Period of Performance The initial contract term is one year from the award date, with options for renewal for four additional one-year periods. Place of Performance Services will be performed at various DOC facilities throughout Virginia. Bidder Requirements Offerors must provide a narrative detailing their ability to deliver the required services, verification of acceptance of contractual terms, completed forms including Assignment of Coverage and National Practitioner Data Bank Form, a Curriculum Vitae with necessary credentials (Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and current valid license), and a listing of at least three relevant accounts served in the past two years. Additionally, compliance with small business subcontracting plans if applicable is required. Contractors must maintain appropriate insurance coverage as specified.
