Background The VA New Jersey Healthcare System is seeking a firm-fixed-price service contract for the annual and quarterly testing and inspection of backflow preventers used for fire sprinkler systems, domestic water connections, and wastewater treatment plants at the East Orange and Lyons VAMCs. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations regarding backflow prevention. Work Details The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliveries described in this statement of work (SOW), including labor, materials, tools, equipment, training, supervision, and supplies. The work includes: - Performing annual testing on backflow preventers across both campuses. - Conducting quarterly inspections as per the updated equipment list. - Providing formal documentation and certification tags for all tested devices. - Uploading required testing results to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) website. - Proposing timely schedules for work that must be coordinated through facility representatives. - Completing repairs on any devices that fail testing after obtaining approval from the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and Contracting Officer (CO). All contractor employees must be certified plumbers licensed in New Jersey with cross connection control testing qualifications. Place of Performance The services will be performed at two locations: East Orange VAMC located at 385 Tremont Ave, East Orange, NJ 07018, and Lyons VAMC located at 151 Knollcroft Rd, Lyons, NJ 07939.
