This is a sources sought posting, to assess the industries capability to provide a microwave digestor. Please see the attached Statement of Work for specifications.
Background The Product Test Center requires a high-power, high-performance microwave digestion system to prepare chemically resistant and complex sample matrices, including titanium alloys, cobalt, tungsten ores, and various steels for elemental analysis. This system will supplement the laboratory's existing Questron Vulcan S Uno digestor, providing necessary capabilities for samples that require high pressures and temperatures unique to microwave technology. The acquisition aims to standardize the laboratory's digestion platforms to ensure operational interoperability. Work Details The contractor shall provide a complete, 'turnkey' Questron QWave 1000 Watt Microwave Digestion System. This includes: - Core instrument - All necessary high-pressure vessels and accessories - Software - Delivery - On-site installation by a certified technician - System verification - Comprehensive operator training - Full warranty. Performance Requirements: 1. Digestion Performance: Capable of achieving complete and reproducible digestion of difficult-to-digest materials (Titanium 6-4, tungsten ores, specialty steels) with clear solutions suitable for trace metals analysis. 2. Throughput: Capable of digesting a minimum of 12 samples simultaneously. 3. Safety: Maximum operator safety through multiple monitoring layers, real-time temperature/pressure control, automatic microwave power adjustment, and robust blast-resistant cavity door. 4. Interoperability: Fully compatible with existing Questron equipment ecosystem. Deliverables include: 1. Questron QWave 1000 Watt Microwave Digestion System - Quantity: 1 2. Complete Set of twelve (12) Enhanced Volume High-Pressure Vessels + four (4) additional spare vessels - Quantity: 16 3. eVHP Vessel Liner, TFM - Quantity: 12 4. eVHP Vessel TFM Top for standard Vessel - Quantity: 12 5. eVHP / LVHT Over Pressure Release Valve - Quantity: 12 6. Perpetual Software License (common platform with Vulcan S Uno) - Quantity: 1 7. On-Site Installation and successful IQ/OQ - Quantity: 1 8. On-Site Operator Training for up to five (5) personnel (minimum 4 hours) - Quantity: 1 Session 9. Operator and Service Manuals (Hardcopy & Electronic) - Quantity: 1 Hardcopy, 1 Electronic 10. Certificate of One-Year Comprehensive Warranty - Quantity: 1. Period of Performance Delivery of all hardware, software, and accessories shall be completed within 90 days from the date of award.
