Background The Veterans Health Administration, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, has identified a need for new flooring in the PM&R department on the 2nd floor of the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The existing flooring is old VCT that is cracked and damaged, necessitating replacement for safety and sanitary reasons. The goal of this contract is to install new Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) and vinyl wall base to improve the facility's condition. Work Details The contractor will provide floor replacement services as outlined in the statement of work. Key tasks include: 1. Delivery and installation of Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) over existing VCT flooring, along with new vinyl cove base. 2. Control airborne dust during installation using methods such as a Mobile Dust Containment Cart or water misting. 3. Ensure cleanliness of worker clothing before leaving the work area and isolate air diffusers to protect HVAC systems from dust. 4. Maintain cleanliness by containing trash and debris, performing daily cleaning, and using sealed containers for waste removal. 5. Install sticky mats at entrances to control dust migration. 6. Comply with minimum technical requirements for LVT including specifications on thickness, wear layer, performance tests, and warranties. 7. Prepare existing surfaces by inspecting sub-flooring, correcting deficiencies, and ensuring cleanliness prior to installation. 8. Follow manufacturer instructions for installation processes including adhesive application and noise control during work hours adjacent to patient care areas. Period of Performance The estimated period of performance for this contract is from March 2, 2026, to March 4, 2026.
