Background The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure on-call electrical services. The goal of the contract is to provide qualified licensed electricians for various electrical repairs, installations, maintenance, and emergency response at SHA facilities located at 707 N. Calvert St and 211 E. Madison St in Baltimore, MD. This procurement is designated as a Small Business Reserve Procurement, limiting eligibility to certified small business vendors. Work Details The contractor will provide licensed electricians for the following services: electrical repairs, installation, maintenance, replacement, emergency response, possible design, reconditioning, diagnostic troubleshooting, and remodeling services on all electrical systems as needed. Specific tasks may include: - Installation or modification of electrical systems - Office build-out - Emergency service - Load studies - Service and distribution - Replacement of ballasts, lamps, receptacles - Locating faulty wiring for repair or rewire - Providing/installing conduit, wiring, junction boxes, motors, fixtures and electrical equipment. The contractor must maintain a stocked service truck with necessary materials and tools for these tasks. Period of Performance The contract will be performed over a period of six (6) months from the date of award or until total payments established by the winning bid are reached. Place of Performance The primary locations for performance are SHA Headquarters at 707 N Calvert St and 211 E Madison St in Baltimore, MD. Bidder Requirements Bidders must meet the following requirements: - Possess a current State of Maryland Master Electrician License - Have five years of experience in the commercial electrical industry with at least two licensed journeyman electricians available - Submit documentation of licenses and commercial experience with the bid - Provide three references from recent projects - Maintain liability insurance coverage of at least $1 million per occurrence - Submit a current W9 form - Have a current State of Maryland Business License. Additionally, bidders must be registered as small businesses with the Governor’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs (GOSBA).
