Background The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - New England District is issuing a solicitation for Vegetation Control Services at the Otter Brook Dam and Surry Mountain Lake, located in Keene and Surry, NH. The primary goal of this contract is to manage vegetation within the flood control project areas, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform vegetation control services on approximately 106 acres within the Otter Brook Lake and Surry Mountain Lake flood control project areas. Key tasks include: 1) Chemical treatment of terrestrial invasive plants and poison ivy on approximately 53 acres at Otter Brook Lake and 53 acres at Surry Mountain Lake; 2) Optional tasks may include additional treatments on an extra 117 acres; 3) Specific methods include cut-stump treatment for certain invasive species, spot spraying for individual plants, and foliar spraying during the active growing season; 4) All chemicals must be applied according to manufacturer's recommendations and state regulations; 5) A chemical utilization report must be submitted detailing the chemicals used and areas treated; 6) The contractor is responsible for maintaining safety protocols as per USACE guidelines, including preparing an Accident Prevention Plan and conducting daily safety meetings. Period of Performance The period of performance for the contract will commence upon award and extend through October 31, 2026.
