Summary (Newest Update)

Background The 621st Contingency Response Group (CRG) at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) requires compact, military-grade laser range finders to support weather operations at austere and contingency airfields. The devices will be utilized to establish accurate visibility reference markers and distances, both day and night, to enhance real-time weather observation and mission planning. Work Details The contract involves providing nine (9) handheld target locator systems equipped with an integrated laser range finder and day/night observation capability. The systems must be suitable for outdoor use in dusty and humid environments, supporting visibility assessments and real-time reporting. Key specifications include: - Ranging performance: minimum of 10,000 meters maximum range. - Day and night observation capabilities. - Environmental robustness for dusty and humid conditions. - Dimensions: approximately 130 x 185 x 80 mm (L x W x H) or similar compact form factor. - Weight: ≤ 1.3 kg (2.87 lbs) or less than 5 lbs for sustained handheld operations. - Power: field-replaceable primary batteries supporting approximately 2,000 measurements and 24 hours of night-vision observation per set or better. Usability features include a clear reticle or digital display for quick ranging, tripod-mountable compatibility, desired data export capabilities, and compliance with eye-safe laser class safety standards. Deliverables also include protective cases, lens covers, cleaning kits, operator manuals, quick reference guides, a Certificate of Conformance, and commercial warranty documentation.
