Background The Leavenworth and Fort Scott National Cemeteries, managed by the National Cemetery Administration (NCA), honor Veterans and their eligible family members with final resting places in national shrines. The goal of this contract is to obtain refuse and recycling collection services that reflect the dignity and respect owed to those interred at these cemeteries. The NCA emphasizes the importance of maintaining high standards of appearance and operational procedures in line with its mission to commemorate the service and sacrifice of Veterans. Work Details The Contractor will provide refuse and recycling collection services, including: 1. Collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste; 2. Proper handling and recycling of designated recyclable materials; 3. Furnishing all management, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary for the services; 4. Weekly pickup and servicing of 6-cubic yard containers at each active site (52 pickups per year); 5. Delivery and pickup of a 30-cubic yard roll-off dumpster monthly at Leavenworth National Cemetery; 6. On-call delivery and pickup of a 20-cubic yard roll-off dumpster as needed; 7. Billing for extra tonnage exceeding contracted amounts; 8. Maintenance of containers to ensure they are leakproof, covered, clean, labeled appropriately for refuse or recycling, and placed in designated areas as specified by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). The Contractor must also ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations throughout the performance of these services.
