Summary (Newest Update)

Background The Bureau of Reclamation, part of the United States Department of the Interior, is conducting market research for a construction project aimed at providing slope protection and erosion control at Steamboat Rock State Park in Washington. The goal of this project is to protect existing bank slopes from further erosion through the implementation of various construction techniques. Work Details The principal components of work include: 1. Slope protection using void-filled riprap, which involves placing large stones with gaps filled with soil to stabilize the slope. 2. Filling voids with topsoil and performing revegetation using native grasses and shrubs to ensure ecological compatibility at an elevation of 1572.00 feet. 3. The project prohibits temporary roads in the drawdown zone of Banks Lake, which is periodically exposed due to water level changes. A plan for access points and temporary storage areas must be submitted by the contractor for approval before construction begins. Period of Performance The estimated period of performance is from July 10th, 2026, to July 1st, 2027, with onsite construction scheduled between October 1st, 2026, and May 1st, 2027. Place of Performance The work will be performed within Steamboat Rock State Park, located approximately 14 miles southwest of Grand Coulee, Washington, in Grant County.
