BACKGROUND: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE BEING RELEASED PURSUANT TO FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) PART 10: MARKET RESEARCH. This notice is issued solely for informational, market research, and planning purposes only. It does not constitute a solicitation or a promise to issue a solicitation in the future. This notice does not commit the Federal Government to contract for any service at this time. Further, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 23/ Supply Services Team 1 is not at this time seeking offers, and will not accept unsolicited offers. Respondents are advised that the Federal Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this notice is to conduct market research to determine if there are Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) sources, or any other Small Businesses capable of B2 Biosafety Cabinet Replacement for NWI VA Health Care System. Background This Sources Sought Notice is issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 23, to conduct market research for small business sources capable of providing a B2 Biosafety Cabinet Replacement for the NWI VA Health Care System. The notice serves informational and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to contract. The goal is to identify Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), or other small businesses that can fulfill this requirement. Work Details The contractor shall replace the existing Biosafety Cabinet (BSC), Type B2 NU-S560-600 Class II, with a new BSC that meets the following specifications: - Class II, Type B1 NSF Std. No. 49 Class - Bench top/console with a base stand and storage cabinet - Constructed with all welded stainless steel 16GA, type 304 pressure tight design - Height: no taller than 61 inches; Width: 77 5/8 inches; Depth: 32 7/8 inches - Work access opening height: 8 inches tall with standard inflow velocity of 105 FPM - Work zone dimensions: at least 25 ½ inches tall, width of 70 3/8 inches, depth of 23 ½ inches - Certification exhaust value CFM/CFH must be 410/697 or lower - Exhaust diameter: 12 inches. Additionally, the contractor must relocate the existing Greenheck damper (Model: HBTR-151) on top of the new BSC ensuring it is tightly fitted and bubble tight to prevent leakage of hazardous chemicals. The new BSC must conform to existing utilities including specifications for electrical connections. Place of Performance The services will be performed at the NWI VA Medical Center located at 4101 Woolworth Avenue, Omaha, NE 68105.
