This is a Sources Sought Notice for the purpose of conducting market research and obtaining industry information ONLY. This is NOT a request for quotation. The National Park Service is seeking sources to obtain information from businesses which would be interested and capable of providing services to Yosemite National Park, California. The work will consist of providing a landfill which has been issued a solid waste facility permit by the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) with the concurrence of CalRecycle, California, to accept large amounts of municipal waste. The landfill must be no further than 40 miles from El Portal, California. The work will NOT include the transportation of waste from Yosemite National Park to the landfill. Interested and capable contractors should complete the attached sources sought survey and return it in accordance with the instructions.
Background The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting market research to identify businesses capable of providing landfill services for Yosemite National Park, California. The NPS aims to gather information from small businesses, including those owned by Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises, certified 8(a), HUBZone, Woman-owned, and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses. This initiative is part of their mission to ensure proper waste management within the park while adhering to state and federal regulations. Work Details The contractor will provide landfill services that include accepting large amounts of municipal waste, organic waste, and recycling materials. The landfill must have a solid waste facility permit issued by the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) with CalRecycle's concurrence and be located no more than 40 miles from El Portal, California. Services will include: - Accepting solid waste seven days a week, 365 days a year, including holidays. - Managing various types of waste such as municipal waste, household waste, demolition materials, organic waste (including horse manure and campground ash), appliances, mattresses, and tires. - Utilizing a State certified scale to weigh waste by the ton with signed weigh tickets provided for each transaction. - Ensuring that organic waste is either composted or used as alternative daily cover at the landfill. - The frequency of trips made to the landfill will vary based on need, ranging from 15 to 60 trips per month.
