Background The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking offers for on-call tree removal services within Spartanburg County. The goal of this contract is to provide necessary tree removal services that may arise due to various conditions, including emergencies or inclement weather, as directed by the Resident Maintenance Engineer (RME) or their authorized designee. Work Details The contractor will provide on-call tree removal services which include: cutting and leaving trees in place, cutting and removal of trees, and cutting, removal, and stump grinding. The contractor must supply all necessary implements, machinery, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, labor, licenses, bonding, fuel, and work zone traffic control. Specific requirements include: 1. Preserve existing vegetation not designated for removal. 2. Use chain saws and bucket trucks primarily; other mechanical equipment requires prior approval. 3. Dispose of all debris at approved sites and obtain necessary permits. 4. Maintain clean work sites free from debris. 5. Provide personnel with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 6. Store materials safely away from roadways. 7. Coordinate with utility companies before commencing work. Period of Performance The estimated period of performance for this contract is from April 7, 2026 to April 6, 2031.
