The 66th Force Support Squadron at Hanscom Air Force Base is seeking information and capabilities from potential contractors for the renovation of athletic Fields #1 and #4. The objective is to deliver safe, playable, and durable athletic fields that meet Air Force playability standards, ensure proper drainage, and achieve successful turf establishment. This RFI is intended to gather information from the industry to assist in the development of a potential future acquisition strategy anticipated to be classified under North American Industry Classification System ( NAICS ) Code 238990, All Other Specialty Trade Contractors. Interested parties are requested to submit a capabilities statement that addresses the following:

The objective is to deliver safe, playable, and durable athletic fields that meet Air Force playability standards, ensure proper drainage, and achieve successful turf establishment. This RFI is intended to gather information from the industry to assist in the development of a potential future acquisition strategy. Work Details The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for the renovation of athletic Fields #1 and #4 at Hanscom AFB. The work includes: 1. Field Verification: Verify all site dimensions before ordering materials or beginning work. 2. Performance Objectives: Deliver safe, playable fields meeting Air Force standards with proper drainage and turf establishment. 3. Performance Requirements: Field surfaces must be graded to within ±0.25 inches over any ten-foot span; turf areas must achieve a minimum of 95% uniform coverage with no bare spots exceeding three inches in diameter within sixty days of completion. 4. Field #4 Infield Tasks: Remove existing vegetation; furnish, install, and grade a new infield mix (60% sand and 40% silt/clay) to a minimum depth of four inches; incorporate a vitrified clay aggregate conditioner into the top one to two inches of the new infield mix; reset field equipment according to ASA Softball Regulations. 5. Field #4 Outfield Tasks: Core aerate the outfield turf area to a minimum depth of three inches; identify and correct surface irregularities; seed with an Athletic Perennial Rye blend. 6. Field #1 Infield Renovation: Till existing infield to a minimum depth of four inches; install sand/soil compost mix; compact and laser grade for positive drainage; conduct soil testing for amendments; seed with an Athletic Perennial Rye blend.
