Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to upgrade the infrastructure at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA, to support the new Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) system. This project aims to enhance the facility's capabilities and ensure compliance with updated standards for telecommunications and physical security. Work Details The awarded Contractor will be responsible for completing all construction work as detailed in the 100% bid design drawings, specifications, and project manual prepared by A/E Health Facilities Solutions. The scope includes upgrades in Buildings 1, 2, 3, 21, and 30, involving relocation, reconfiguration, expansion, and renovation of existing rooms and telecommunication closets. Construction tasks will encompass general construction and associated trades including structural work, mechanical and HVAC systems, plumbing and fire protection, electrical work, information technology installations, and civil engineering tasks. All construction must comply with the VA Infrastructure Standard for Telecommunications Spaces (ISTS) V4.0 as of June 1, 2023. The project will require phasing due to occupied work areas; therefore, all construction activities must occur between the hours of 5:00 PM and 5:00 AM ET to minimize disruption to hospital operations. Additionally, infection control measures must be implemented according to ICRA guidelines.
