Background The National Park Service Contracting Operations (ConOps) Central, Nekota Major Acquisition Buying Office is issuing an Invitation for Bid for construction services to repair Cedar Lodge Road located at Badlands National Park in Interior, South Dakota. The goal of the contract is to restore and enhance the roadway to ensure safe access within the park. Work Details The work consists of the following tasks: - Replacement of existing granular surfaced roadway; - Minor grading; - Installation of 450 tons of new granular surfaced roadway; - Excavation involving 3,200 cubic yards (CY) of material to be hauled to a park-provided soil waste disposal site; - Construction of an earthen berm using 900 CY of haul-on material. The project will be executed in phases, with specific limitations on work hours to minimize disturbance to visitors. Period of Performance The work shall be completed within 120 calendar days from the start date provided on the Notice to Proceed. Work is anticipated to start on August 17, 2026, and end by November 6, 2026. If winter weather disrupts construction, remaining work may restart in Spring 2027.
