Background Travis County, Texas, is seeking bids for maintenance and repair services for commercial kitchens. The purpose of this contract is to provide preventative maintenance services on all kitchen equipment, including coolers, freezers, hot-side equipment, and ice machines. The goal is to ensure that all kitchen equipment operates efficiently and safely. Work Details The contractor will provide quarterly preventative maintenance visits covering the following areas: - **Refrigeration Maintenance**: Cleaning condenser and evaporator coils, clearing drain lines, inspecting electrical components, verifying defrost operation, and checking operating temperatures. - **Ice Machine Maintenance**: Cleaning and sanitizing ice machine head units and bins bi-monthly, replacing water filters every 90 days, and inspecting for leaks. - **Hot Side Maintenance**: Calibrating thermostats, cleaning cooling assemblies, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring proper operation of ventilation systems. - **General Areas**: Ensuring cleanliness of floor drains, sinks, basins; pressure washing floors; treating visible growth on ceilings or walls; cleaning lighting lenses; and sanitizing dry-storage racks. Additionally, the contractor must maintain up-to-date equipment files that include maintenance history and repair history. A list of standard repair costs must also be provided. Period of Performance The contract will be for a period of one year commencing upon award by the Travis County Commissioners Court. There is an option to extend the contract for four additional one-year periods or three additional one-month periods. Place of Performance The services will be performed in Travis County, Texas. Bidder Requirements Bidders must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to this contract. They must have standard insurance coverage sufficient to cover the needs of both the contractor and subcontractors.
