The OCMEO requires a transport service to remove and transport decedents to the OCMEO and/or to other locations in the event of a mass fatality or other incident where an off-site location is necessary. This contract aims to ensure timely and respectful transportation services for decedents within Onondaga County. Work Details The contractor will provide 24-hour, 7 days per week removal and transport of decedents from various locations throughout Onondaga County, including residences, roadways, hospitals, and nursing homes. The contractor must utilize vehicles that conform to New York State Health laws and are appropriate for the removal and transport of decedents. Vehicles will be subject to approval by the OCMEO Chief Medical Examiner. The contractor must equip vehicles with necessary equipment for various scenarios, including fire turnout gear and stretchers. They must also meet National Association of Medical Examiner (NAME) accreditation requirements and provide enough vehicles and staff to remove at least two decedents from different locations simultaneously. Response time should average 45 minutes from notification. Additional requirements include maintaining confidentiality during transport, utilizing body bags provided by OCMEO, completing a chain of custody for each transport, and providing monthly electronic reports detailing services rendered.
