Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking qualified vendors to provide services related to the Boiler Plant Control Systems at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT. This initiative aims to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of the facility's boiler systems. The contract will be a service contract focusing on commercial service acquisition. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended for market research purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for proposals. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for several key improvements to the Boiler Plant Control Systems, including: 1. Addressing single point failure risks associated with the existing Boiler Plant Master Control. 2. Enhancing Condensate and Feedwater Pump control functionality. 3. Improving Condensate and Deaerator Tank level alarm functionality and compliance. 4. Separating Condensate and Deaerator Tank level control from the Plant Master by installing new, separate control panels closer to the pump and tank systems. 5. Installing individual tank level control panels for localized pump control. 6. Reworking water level controls by combining multiple water columns into a single column for alarm functionalities, providing a common gauge glass for visual indication. 7. Implementing local control panels at tank locations for enhanced safety and operational monitoring. 8. Centralizing Deaerator Tank pressure control into the new Tank/Pump level control panel. Deliverables include: - Operational Control Panels that maintain tank levels and pump control; - Functional Local Control Panels that increase reliability; - A Single Water Level Column for consistent alarm functionality; - Centralized Pressure Control within local panels; - Enhanced Safety and Monitoring capabilities.
