Background The Towns of Mount Jackson, New Market, and Woodstock are seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive solid waste collection and disposal services. Work Details The contract will encompass the following services: 1) Curbside collection of trash and recyclables from residential customers; 2) Bi-annual large-item collection at curbside; 3) Collection of refuse and recycling from streetscape cans located adjacent to town streets; 4) Collection of refuse and recycling from town facilities. The contractor will be responsible for transporting collected materials to designated disposal or recycling facilities. Proposals must include options for both comingled (single-stream) and customer-sorted recycling collection. Additionally, the contractor may propose alternative collection frequencies or container sizes for government facilities. Period of Performance The contract is expected to commence on July 1, 2026, and will cover a target period until June 30, 2030, with options for annual renewal. Place of Performance Services will be performed within the corporate boundaries of the Towns of Mount Jackson, New Market, and Woodstock. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be licensed and registered to conduct business in Virginia. They should not be suspended or debarred from conducting business with any governmental entity.
