Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is planning to solicit bids for a firm-fixed-price contract for the design-bid-build EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades construction project at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center (VAMC). This project aims to enhance the infrastructure to support the VA's mission of providing quality healthcare services to veterans.

Work Details

The project scope includes comprehensive site preparation for building operations, which involves demolition and removal of existing structures. The contractor will furnish labor and materials to perform the following infrastructure upgrades: electrical panel upgrades, normal and emergency power systems, bonding, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, Building Management System interfaces, new and upgraded HVAC systems, reconfiguration and renovation of existing spaces including demo and new construction finishes. Specific tasks include renovating the first floor of Building 14 for a Regional Data Center, constructing a new Data Center with site work, demolition, finishes, HVAC installation, UPS integration, cable management, and power supply. Additionally, communication infrastructure will be upgraded with new data outlets and patch panels along with enhancements to Cat 6A cabling as necessary. Physical security upgrades will be implemented alongside campus-wide fiber infrastructure improvements between buildings. Site civil work and hazardous material abatement are also included in the scope. The work will encompass Buildings 1, 2, 4, 14, 15 and associated site areas.
