The DHS S&T OCIO requires professional technical support services to help achieve its mission and objectives by integrating innovative technology into daily operations for DHS components. IT support services are needed for the Service Delivery business unit. This business unit is comprised of two distinct functional areas: the Business Management /Project Management Office which includes program/project management, IT governance, IT regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture and the Solutions Delivery functional area which focus on leveraging modern and emerging technologies. This support is essential to maintain, enhance, and advance the organization's business processes, management functions, and technology solutions.

Background The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is focused on providing tools, technologies, and knowledge products for the nation’s Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE). The OCIO aims to enable effective, efficient, and secure operations across all homeland security missions by applying scientific, engineering, analytics, and innovative approaches to deliver timely solutions in support of DHS's mission. The S&T OCIO supports operations by providing personnel, technology, property, security, and processes for S&T operations across various locations including Washington, D.C. and laboratories nationwide. Currently managing approximately 35 distinct IT systems with 2,500 endpoints, the OCIO anticipates growth to over 40 systems with approximately 4,000+ endpoints within a year. Work Details The DHS S&T OCIO requires professional technical support services to integrate innovative technology into daily operations for DHS components. IT support services are needed for the Service Delivery business unit which consists of two functional areas: 1) Business Management/Project Management Office - includes program/project management, IT governance, IT regulatory compliance, and enterprise architecture; 2) Solutions Delivery - focuses on leveraging modern and emerging technologies. The support is essential to maintain, enhance, and advance the organization’s business processes and technology solutions. Key tasks include: providing end-to-end application development and support including helpdesk services; supporting IT portfolio management within a federal OCIO environment; designing formal IT governance frameworks; establishing performance metrics for quality assurance; staying current with emerging technologies; and deploying subject matter experts for strategic advancements.
