Background The Monument Fire Center on the Pikes Peak Ranger District, located approximately 3 miles west of the Town of Monument, Colorado, serves as a vital facility for the Pike Interagency Hotshot and Monument Helitack crews. These crews are national assets that respond to wildfires and support the entire fire management process. The center is situated on a 1,000-acre compound at an elevation of 7,256 feet and is staffed year-round with a varying population of full-time employees.
