Background The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is the largest school district in North Carolina and the 15th largest in the United States, serving approximately 160,000 students across 199 schools. The goal of this contract is to procure three Type A Activity Buses to support transportation needs for Morrisville High School and Felton Grove High School. Work Details The contractor will provide a total of three 2026 Type A Activity Buses: two for Morrisville High School and one for Felton Grove High School. Each bus must be a small configuration with a maximum capacity of 14 passengers plus a driver. The buses must include the following features: - Air conditioning - Acoustic headliner - Third brake light above the rear door - Rear backing camera - Child checkmate system - Three-point seat belts - Noise suppression switch - Rear roof strobe light - A 68K air conditioning system - Vandal lock on the rear door - A 12.3K-pound chassis - Mudflaps - Roof hatch - A 5/8” plywood floor. Additionally, the buses must come with a five-year body warranty and a ten-year rust warranty. They must meet all requirements as per previous NCDPI Type A bid specifications (IFB #201700084). Delivery is included in the contract. Period of Performance The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed by January 29, 2026. Place of Performance Delivery of the buses will be made to Wake County Public School System at 1551 Rock Quarry Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. Bidder Requirements Bidders must comply with all specified requirements in the solicitation document. They are required to submit their bids on the provided form and ensure that they do not include any additional terms or conditions that could lead to disqualification. Vendors must not be debarred from doing business with the State of North Carolina or Federal Government. Additionally, participation from minority-owned businesses and women-owned businesses is encouraged.
