Background The State of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services is seeking to procure a vehicle conversion and driving modification package. The goal is to provide a 2023 or newer Chevy Traverse RS AWD or better, equipped with a BraunAbility dropped floor conversion and additional modifications. This contract aims to enhance transportation accessibility for individuals with disabilities, aligning with the agency's mission to support independence for people with disabilities. Work Details The contractor will provide a 2023 or newer Chevy Traverse RS AWD or better, featuring: - BraunAbility dropped floor conversion with at least an 11-inch drop, including full floor drop in the cargo area, driver, and front passenger areas. - Power sliding side door(s). - Fold-out or in-floor ramp with manual emergency back-up. - Removable seats for the driver and front passenger. - Wheelchair rubberized flooring (no carpet). - A kneeling system. - Two wireless keychain remotes for door/ramp controls. The vehicle must have less than 10,000 miles on the odometer and be equipped with standard features such as a 6-cylinder engine, automatic transmission, power steering, brakes, windows, door locks, mirrors, cruise control, tilt wheel, and heating/air conditioning. Period of Performance The contract will have an initial term of one (1) year starting from the date of final contract execution. Place of Performance The delivery location for the vehicle will be Newport, NC 28570. Bidder Requirements Bidders must be registered vendors in good standing in North Carolina. They are required to provide evidence of authorization from the manufacturer to sell or service the vehicle modifications.
