Background The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking to contract for waste collection, removal, and disposal services at the California Men’s Colony (CMC) located in San Luis Obispo, CA. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper management of non-hazardous waste in compliance with state regulations aimed at minimizing landfill use and promoting recycling efforts. Work Details The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, staff, supplies, tools, equipment, permits/licenses, and transportation for building maintenance non-hazardous waste collection, removal, and disposal services. Specifically, the contractor will supply three (3) forty (40) cubic yard containers and one (1) ten (10) cubic yard container for waste disposal. Containers will be placed at CMC West Facility Building #424. The contractor must exchange full containers for empty ones within two business days of notification from the Institution Contract Liaison or designee. The contractor is responsible for delivering waste to a county/city-approved landfill and must provide receipts verifying disposal when submitting invoices. Additionally, the contractor must maintain containers in good condition, including quarterly steam cleaning and annual painting. All personnel must possess required licenses including a valid 'D-63' Construction Clean-up Contractor Specialty License. Period of Performance The anticipated date for commencement of services is July 1, 2026, with the term ending on June 30, 2029. Place of Performance Services will be performed at the California Men’s Colony located at Highway 1, San Luis Obispo, CA 93409. Bidder Requirements Bidders must possess a valid 'D-63' Construction Clean-up Contractor Specialty License issued by the California Contractors State License Board. They must also have a business license from their respective city or county if located within California or provide proof of good standing if based outside California. Bidders are encouraged to include certified Small/Micro Businesses and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises in their proposals.
