This Source Sought notice (SSN) is issued for market information and planning for future acquisition in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e). Responses to notice 36C26226Q0303 will improve the understanding of the Government s requirement and industry capabilities. It will enhance the Government s ability to obtain quality supplies and allow for potential offerors to judge whether or how they can satisfy the Government s requirement. Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office 22 (NCO 22) is seeking sources to provide a 125kW generator lease for the Tibor Rubin Medical Center's Engineering Department. This requirement is essential for ensuring backup power for the Domestic Water System (PUMPS) and Fire Suppression System during outages, as the existing generator in Building 125 is currently decommissioned. The goal of this contract is to enhance the VA's capability to maintain critical services during power interruptions. Work Details The contractor shall provide a 125kW rental generator that meets the following specifications and requirements: - The generator must supply emergency power to the Domestic Water System (PUMPS) and Fire Suppression System. - All labor, parts, materials, equipment, and supervision required for installation and maintenance are included. - Compliance with NFPA 70 National Electric Code (NEC) regulations is mandatory. - The generator main breaker must have a maximum trip setting of 300 Amps. - Installation includes running cables per phase, neutral, and ground from the ATS to the generator circuit breaker. - A one-time delivery, setup, and termination of the system are required. - An annual four-hour load bank test must be conducted in accordance with South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) regulations. - The contractor is responsible for swapping the generator with a replacement unit once a year and conducting a final walkthrough with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
