Background

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the Iowa City VA Health Care System (ICVAHCS), is issuing a presolicitation notice for a construction project aimed at correcting lightning protection and grounding systems across its facilities. This project is part of the VA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services to veterans. The contract is set aside for 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) as per Public Law 109-461 and VAAR 819.7003(b). Bidders must be registered and certified in the SBA certification database as SDVOSBs. Work Details: The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to upgrade outdated lightning protection systems for all buildings at ICVAHCS. This includes re-establishing Underwriters Laboratory ratings through improved grounding for each building on campus. All work must comply with the provided specifications, drawings, and Scope of Work. The magnitude of construction for this project is estimated between $1,000,000.00 and $2,000,000.00. Period of Performance: The period of performance for this contract is three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP).
