Background The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection is soliciting bids to establish a contract for the Upland Run AMD/Reclamation Project located in Lewis County, WV. The project aims to address environmental concerns related to abandoned mine drainage and reclamation efforts in the area. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for various construction tasks including: 1. Mobilization and Demobilization (limited to 5% of total bid) - Lump sum. 2. Construction Layout (limited to 5% of total bid) - Lump sum. 3. Quality Control (limited to 3% of total bid) - Lump sum. 4. Site Preparation (limited to 10% of total bid) - Includes clearing and grubbing, demolition, asbestos material identification, materials storage, spill containment areas, subgrade preparation, temporary bridges/timber mats, separation fabric, and temporary fencing. 5. Temporary Gravel Access Road Stone - 593 tons. 6. Tower Access Road Stabilization Stone - 42 tons. 7. Gravel Road Rehabilitation Stone - 720 tons. 8. Tower Access Road Rehabilitation Stone - 67 tons. 9. Existing Channel Maintenance - Lump sum. 10. Remove/Replace Wire Fence - 1721 linear feet. 11. Temporary Wire Fence - 895 linear feet. 12. Double Gate - 1 each. 13. Stabilized Construction Entrance - 225 tons. 14. Orange Construction Barrier Fence - 684 linear feet. 15. Rock Check Dam - 56 each. 16. Rolled Erosion Control Products - 37943 square yards. 17. Woven Belted Silt Retention Fence - 3195 linear feet. 18. Silt Fence Drop Inlet Protection - 6 each. 19. Concrete Washout Area - 1 each. 20. Pump Around with Dewatering Bag - 3 each. 21. Revegetation - 8.28 acres. 22-46 Various types of channels and pipes including Type I Channel (360 LF), Type II Channel (445 LF), HDPE Pipes (15-in, 18-in, and others), Drop Inlets, Headwalls, Flared End Sections, Armored Slope Protection, Texas Crossing, Channel Energy Dissipator, Trench Drain (12-in), Unclassified Excavation (21811 CY), Toe-key Foundation (602 LF), Bonding Bench (1166 LF), Underdrain (250 LF), Soda Ash Briquettes (15 each), Administration and Traffic Control costs. Period of Performance The contract period begins upon award and is expected to be completed within the timeframe specified in the project schedule. Place of Performance The work will be performed at the Upland Run AMD/Reclamation Project site located in Lewis County, West Virginia.
