Background

The contract is issued by the National Park Service (NPS) as part of the Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads (ERFO) program. The goal of this contract is to perform necessary repairs on Road 107 in Olympic National Park, specifically addressing bank stabilization and erosion control to protect park infrastructure and natural resources.

Work Details

The work consists of various construction tasks including: bank stabilization, installation of riprap, and creation of engineered log jams with dolosse. Specific tasks outlined include: - Construction Survey & Staking

Contractor Quality Control and Assurance

- Soil Erosion & Sediment Control (Fiber Roll) - Boulder placement - Placed Riprap (Class 4 and Class 5) - Roadway Aggregate installation - Untreated Timber Pile installation - Turf Establishment (seeding or mulching)

Temporary Stream Diversion

- Rolled Erosion Control Product installation - Temporary Traffic Control measures including markers, lights, pavement markings, signs, flaggers, and a traffic control supervisor. Environmental design elements include root wads and various forms of bank stabilization using coarse woody debris.

Period of Performance

The contract is expected to be performed from Spring 2026 with a tentative fixed completion date in Fall 2026.

Place of Performance

The geographic location for the construction projects will be approximately 26 miles southeast of Forks City in Jefferson County, Washington State.
