Background

The National Park Service (NPS), MWR NEKOTA Major Acquisition Buying Office (MABO) intends to issue a solicitation for Theodore Roosevelt National Park Watford City, North Dakota complete wastewater system improvements. The acquisition will be conducted using Invitation for Bids (IFB)/Sealed Bid process. The NPS intends to award a firm-fixed price, construction contract in response to this IFB. This acquisition is set-aside for 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. Work Details: Renovation of the existing North Unit Campground Water System at Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Provide a new above ground water storage reservoir and a new replacement section of water main located near the Missouri River. The project will abandon in-place an existing buried concrete water storage tank. This project will also cap and abandon in-place sections of the existing water main, while removing one section of the existing main where the new alignment follows the existing alignment. Demolition of the existing buried concrete water storage tank and the existing water main to be abandoned. Tank lid should be jackhammered and crushed into buried tank. The existing fence should be removed. Tank should be backfilled with clean cut from tank pad installation. The Park will be responsible for supplying the seed for reestablishing vegetation around the tank demo area. New above ground water storage reservoir along with necessary subgrade and footing design. Tank must be painted earthen, natural color to blend into surroundings. New barbed wire fence to be installed around the tank to keep large animals away. The Park will be responsible for supplying the seed for reestablishing vegetation around the new tank pad area. Contractor is responsible for coordination of the tank transportation and installation. All equipment necessary for transportation and installation is the responsibility of the contractor. New section of bored buried water main to replace a section of pipe that the Missouri River has encroached upon. Tracer wire must be effectively secured along the entire new length of water main. Approximately 500 feet of open trench water main from the top of the hill to the tank. Contractor to hire outside firm to do soil reporting. Period of Performance: 180 calendar days, estimated start time August/September of 2024.
