Background The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) is seeking a Contractor to provide Janitorial Services for the visitor center and headquarters of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge located in Homer, Alaska. The goal of this contract is to ensure a clean, attractive environment that enhances public relations and provides a safe work environment. The contract includes one base year and four option years, requiring the contractor to furnish all necessary personnel, supervision, and transportation for professional janitorial services. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and assuring effective performance of janitorial services in the following areas: Visitor Center/Headquarters and Bunkhouse. Key tasks include: - Base cleaning of the 1st floor Headquarters/Visitor Center including lobby, entryways, exhibit hall, auditorium, seminar room, EE lab, locker room, restrooms. - Base cleaning of the 2nd floor Headquarters including kitchen/breakroom and staff restrooms. - Cleaning stairways and elevator. - Regular trash and recycling removal from designated receptacles throughout the facility. - Specific tasks include vacuuming/sweeping floors, mopping surfaces, sanitizing restrooms (including fixtures and partitions), cleaning windows/glass surfaces, dusting surfaces at or below six feet high, and maintaining cleanliness in common areas. Option items may include annual waxing of restroom floors, deep cleaning carpets on both floors once a year, vacuuming all carpeted floors four times a year, deep cleaning the bunkhouse once a year, washing pebbled cement floors once a year, and cleaning interior windows twice a year. Period of Performance One base year with four option years.
