Background The Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS) is upgrading its existing Edwards EST-3 fire alarm system to the newer Edwards EST-4 system. This upgrade is part of the mission to enhance fire protection capabilities and improve reliability within the facility. The project aims to ensure compliance with current fire codes and standards while minimizing disruption to building occupants during the installation process. Work Details The contractor will be responsible for replacing twenty-three (23) existing Edwards EST-3 fire alarm control panels (FACPs) with new Edwards EST-4 FACPs. The scope includes: conducting a detailed site survey, preparing a comprehensive submittal package, obtaining necessary approvals from the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), procuring all necessary equipment including wiring, batteries, and mounting hardware, and ensuring seamless integration with existing field devices. Installation tasks include careful removal of existing panels, installation of new panels, programming software for proper device addressing, and testing all field devices to ensure functionality. Additionally, comprehensive training and documentation will be provided to CMSFS personnel on the operation and maintenance of the new system.
