Shake Creek Guard Station Siding Replacement

Background

The Forest Service is issuing this presolicitation notice to provide an opportunity for vendors to assess the project site prior to inclement weather or seasonal closures and before the issuance of a full solicitation. This notice is not a request for proposal, quote, or bid. The goal is to ensure that prospective vendors can see the areas before heavy snowfall and the formal solicitation process begins. Work Details: The project involves rehabilitating the siding of a collection of buildings at a historic Guard Station. The work includes: - cleaning, preparing, and/or repairing any exterior substrate conditions; - capturing lead-based paint in preparation for painting; - disposing of hazardous lead-based paint and associated waste; - painting clapboard siding, eaves, window trim, and other exterior surfaces; - alternatively, providing and installing new aluminum siding while preserving existing historic siding.
