Background The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically the Forest Service, is issuing this justification to restrict competition under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold for the completion of office improvements at the Greenbrier Ranger District of the Monongahela National Forest. The goal of this contract is to finalize the expansion of the office building after previous contractor Fillmore Contracts failed to make timely progress, leading to their termination for default. Work Details The contract involves completing the unfinished work related to the expansion of the office building at the Greenbrier Ranger District. The original contract was awarded to Fillmore Contracts, but due to their inability to meet project timelines, a performance bond claim was filed by the Forest Service against Fillmore Contracts. Great Midwest Insurance Co has agreed to take over and complete the remaining work as per their takeover agreement with the Forest Service, which includes utilizing the remaining balance of funds from Fillmore Contracts' contract. Period of Performance The contract will be performed following the termination of Fillmore Contracts on February 4, 2025, and will continue until all remaining work is completed. Place of Performance The construction projects will be performed at the Greenbrier Ranger District located within the Monongahela National Forest.
