Background The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for the Plumbing Infrastructure Repairs Design-Build project at the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. The goal of this project is to address the deteriorating plumbing infrastructure critical to the operations of the medical center. Work Details The project involves replacing existing water piping that has failed and is deteriorating. Key tasks include: - Utilizing two city water tie-ins, - Running new piping with shut-off valves in appropriately sized valve boxes to a central location for housing VA-required water treatment equipment, - Ensuring proper ventilation and temperature control for the equipment, - Installing pipes with shut-off valves to connect various buildings on campus (approximately 6-8 tie-ins). The contractor will provide all professional architectural and engineering services necessary for complete drawings, specifications, cost estimates, project phasing, site visits, and construction period services. Preliminary project scope meetings and site surveys will be conducted to develop conceptual layout schemes consistent with VA goals. The contractor must also provide all material, labor, equipment, project phasing, site visits, and supervision required for successful project completion.
