The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 8, is conducting market research to identify potential qualified sources for providing Brand Name or Equal Laundry Chemicals and Maintenance for the C.W. Bill Young VAMC located at 10,000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33744. The goal of this contract is to ensure the availability of necessary laundry chemicals and maintenance services to support the operations of the facility. This acquisition is anticipated to be a firm-fixed price (FFP) contract with a base period plus four option periods.

Work Details

The contractor shall provide all necessary supervision, labor, equipment, tools, safety measures, hoisting, and supplies required to fulfill the Statement of Work (SOW). The chemicals supplied must be compatible with specific laundry equipment including various models of Milnor washers and McClure cart wash systems. Key responsibilities include: 1. Recognizing the partnership nature of the contract and providing expertise to improve laundry operations through suggestions on chemicals that extend linen lifespan, monitoring production conditions for issues related to stains or discoloration, and recommending processes to reduce utility usage. 2. Maintaining and servicing all dispensing equipment with capabilities for accurate formula summaries and chemical delivery monitoring. 3. Implementing a bi-weekly preventative maintenance schedule including monitoring chemical levels and testing water quality parameters such as softness and pH levels. 4. Documenting stain percentages and types while performing modifications to reduce stain rates. 5. Providing timely technical support for any operational issues related to washed linens or equipment malfunctions.
