Argonne National Laboratory is seeking Xspress 3X Mk2 8 and 13-channel: Readout systems for SDD or HPGe detectors, or a domestically manufactured, technically equivalent solution. Please review the provided Statement of Work and provide a completed ANL-70, ANL-70B, and supporting documentation no later than 12:00pm CST on January 21, 2026. Please send any questions to the Contracting Officer. Thank you in advance for your participation.

Summary (Newest Update)

Background Argonne National Laboratory, operated by UChicago Argonne LLC, is seeking to procure readout systems for multi-channel X-ray fluorescence (XRF) detectors at the Advanced Photon Source (APS). The goal of this contract is to enhance the capabilities of the APS beamlines by providing fast detector readout electronics that meet specific technical requirements for scientific research. Work Details The contract involves the procurement and installation of Xspress 3X Mk2 Readout Systems, which are available in 8 and 13-channel configurations. The readout systems must meet the following technical specifications: - Capability to read out up to thirteen channels of silicon drift (SD) and high purity germanium (HPGe) detectors. - Compatibility with reset Cube (XGLab) preamps. - Full-speed EPICS support, which is open-source. - Continuous and sustained full-spectrum readout rate over EPICS >=100 kHz. - Deadtime < 10% with input count rate = 1Mcps. - Energy resolution < 200 eV at 6 keV with input count rate = 1Mcps. - List modes (energy and timestamp of every event correlated to a global clock) with timing resolution < 50 ns. - Live dead time correction via both full-spectrum and list mode. - Software programmable number of bins per full spectrum (i.e., options for 1024, 2048, and 4096). - Automated calibration procedure. - Control computer with at least 10 GbE connections to electronics and beamline network. Period of Performance Electronics shall be delivered within 9 months of the award of the contract. Place of Performance The products will be delivered to Argonne National Laboratory located at 9700 S. Cass Avenue, Argonne, IL 60439.
